Yesterday, Lauryn Hill celebrated her 36th birthday and The YBF would like to salute her with 36 candles as we reminisce about the icon's fashions and how her music touched our lives inside....
For millions of people, Lauryn Hill's iconic album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was just that disc. Whether she was singing about the birth of her kiddie Zion, breaking up on "Ex-Factor" or the basement love groove "Nothing Even Matters" with D'Angelo, the disc struck a cord with millions of fans around the globe and expanded the reach of hip-hop.
She was a woman in the hip-hop game who wrote, produced and arranged, and became a symbol of strength for many women. She's been slow to release new music thanks to her having babies and doing her own thing. But she's back with concert shows, and she's been recently added to the "Rock The Bells" tour. We love her crazy ass outfits, ridiculously relatable songs, that voice, and everything in between.
Happy 36th birthday Lauryn!
